Macon Tiger General News
- The District's Baseline Salary Grant application has been turned in to DESE. The preliminary application shows the district receiving over $73,000.
- Opaa! has announced several new food focused changes in anticipation to the USDA School Meal Standards this Fall 2026. These anticipated changes include: reduced added sugars, lower sodium limits, increase focus on reducing ultra-processed foods and artificial dyes, greater emphasis on nutrient dense meals, and increased protein at breakfast.
A Big Week in the MACTEC:
Last week was a big week for the career center! The Southern Region Education Board (SREB) team was onsite to complete a Curriculum and Instruction Review (CIR).
Throughout the review, SREB will collect data through classroom observations, interviews, surveys, and the information/files provided. They will use this information to develop a final CIR Report, which we will receive at the end of October.

Homecoming 2026: The Greatest "Showdown" (inspired by the movie The Greatest Showman)
Homecoming will be an early release day at 1:00 p.m., with the downtown parade to follow at 3:00 p.m. The football game will begin at 7:00 p.m. (6:40 pregame).
