MACON AREA SKILLSUSA CHAPTER RECEIVES GRANT
Lowe’s Donates Money For
School Project
MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Lowe’s Charitable and
Educational Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to MAVTS's SkillsUSA
Chapter to revitalize Macon's Family Literacy Center.
The SkillsUSA chapter plans to complete many projects to improve the environment of the center:

- Murals
- Outside Door
- Oven
- Dishwasher
- Landscaping

- Playground Resurfacing
- Hanging Artwork
- Lighting
- Vanities
- Handicap Accessible Ramp
- Kitchen Countertops

“The grant in Macon represents Lowe’s commitment to education,”
said Larry D. Stone, chairman of Lowe’s Charitable and Educational
Foundation. “By supporting local schools like Macon AVTS, we believe we
are not only investing in community projects that are important to our
customers and employees, but we’re also helping schools build a stronger
foundation for the children who will be tomorrow’s employees,
homeowners and community leaders.”
